Rancho De La Luna
Founded in 1993 by Fred Drake and David Catching, the Rancho de la Luna recording studio has hosted such diverse artists as Daniel Lanois, Queens of the Stone Age, Victoria Willams, Fu Manchu and Mark Lanegan. In 2001, Fred released his second solo album, Twice Shy, “the record I moved to the desert to make.” Fred’s too-brief life on this earth came to an end in June, 2002. In keeping with Fred Drake’s wishes, a group of his friends have re-opened the Rancho de la Luna recording studio in Joshua Tree.
